Liverpool's fans were left fuming after the Reds were on the receiving end of a terrible officiating decision less than quarter of an hour into the new season.
Hugo Ekitike looked as though he might be in a position to drive toward the Bournemouth goal when Marcos Senesi handled the ball and knocked it out of the Frenchman's path.
While the initial contact between Senesi's hand and the ball was accidental, there was a second contact during the same passage of play which appeared to be intentional.
However, for some reason, a free-kick was awarded to Bournemouth.
The video assistant referee reviewed the incident and confirmed the on-field decision, with the reason given that Senesi's movement when his arm made contact with the ball was a natural one.
