Liverpool will finally get their hands on the Premier League trophy on Sunday.

And while Arne Slot’s squad celebrated wildly with supporters, and the celebrations have continued since, they have been made to wait until the final match of the season to be presented with the trophy.

Clubs are traditionally awarded the trophy after their last home game of campaign, with a presentation only taking place away from home if the title winners are not decided until after the final fixture.

Liverpool host Crystal Palace in their last home game of the season on Sunday as an historic campaign comes to an end.

And after facing the Eagles, they will become the first Reds side to be officially crowned champions in front of supporters for 35 years.

Under Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool twice missed out on the title by a solitary point to Manchester City on the final day of the campaign in 2019 and 2022.

The base of the trophy was engraved with Liverpool’s name as the 2024/25 champions at Asprey London on Tuesday, with the Premier League subsequently releasing pictures of the updated piece of silverware on Wednesday morning.

There has been a subtle change to the trophy from the last time the Reds were crowned champions.

While it was previously engraved with just 'Liverpool' in 2020, they have instead been listed as 'Liverpool F.C.' in the latest update to the iconic silverware ahead of Sunday's presentation.

The full trophy still needs to be adorned with red ribbons, before captain Virgil van Dijk is officially presented with it following Liverpool’s final day clash with Crystal Palace at Anfield.
