The Premier League say they have reached out to Liverpool Football Club to offer their "full support" after an incident on Water Street at the end of the trophy parade that saw a man detained following a road traffic collision with a number of pedestrians.

Police were contacted at around 6pm on Monday evening, just as Liverpool's city-wide bus tour was coming to a close on Blundell Street, on the city's waterfront.

Merseyside Police have since confirmed a man who has been arrested is a 53-year-old white British man, who is from the local area.

It's unknown at this stage how many have been injured in the collision.

A large emergency-service presence was visible across Dale Street, Castle Street and Water Street itself after the incident and Liverpool officials have been in direct contact with Merseyside Police since.
