The Premier League has called the horrifying car crash incident that unfolded following Liverpool's title-winning trophy parade "appalling".
What should have been a joyous celebration for Liverpool supporters at the beginning of the day devolved into scenes of horror when, after the parade had finished, a car drove into a crowd of Reds supporters.
Videos on social media showed a black SUV driving down Dale Street, forcing its way through the crowd.
Due to the nature of the parade, there was already a significant police presence inside the city, along with multiple ambulances and fire engines ready to provide immediate assistance.

It has since emerged a 53-year-old white British man has been arrested following the incident on Dale Street
And in the immediate aftermath, the Premier League has released a statement, calling the incident "appalling"
"Everyone at the Premier League is shocked by the appalling events in Liverpool this evening, and our heartfelt thoughts go out to all those injured and affected," the statement read
"We have been in contact with Liverpool FC and have offered our full support following this serious incident."
