The Prince of Wales has issued a tribute to Diogo Jota after the Liverpool FC forward's death aged 28.
The Prince, who is a patron of the Football Association (FA), said: “As part of the footballing family, I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Diogo Jota and his brother.
“Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who knew him @LFC @Wolves.
I’m heartbroken to hear about the passing of Diogo and his brother André.
"Diogo was a not only a fantastic player, but also a great friend, a loving and caring husband and father!
He said: "Absolutely devastated by the sad news about Diogo Jota.
The club said: "Liverpool Football Club are devastated by the tragic passing of Diogo Jota.
"The club have been informed the 28-year-old has passed away following a road traffic accident in Spain along with his brother, Andre.
Liverpool FC will be making no further comment at this time and request the privacy of Diogo and Andre’s family, friends, teammates and club staff is respected as they try to come to terms with an unimaginable loss."
Fans have also laid floral tributes outside Anfield in tribute of Diogo Jota.
