Pundit issues verdict on Liverpool re-signing Georginio Wijnaldum after new twist
Liverpool should not pursue a loan move for Georginio Wijnaldum, according to Noel Whelan.
He won the Premier League, Champions League and Club World Cup with the Reds.
Fabrizio Romano reported on Monday (20 June) that rumours of Liverpool being interested in re-signing Wijnaldum were “fake”.
“If you ask the majority of Liverpool fans, they’d probably want him back,” Whelan told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Leeds United and England Under-21s striker claimed Liverpool are right to bide their time and wait until next summer for the right midfielder to become available.
“Liverpool need a more solid base when it comes to that midfield player that comes in.
In other news, a medical expert has revealed the “truth” behind five new Liverpool injuries after an Andy Robertson update.
