Paul Robinson has claimed Liverpool have “surprisingly” not missed Georginio Wijnaldum a year on from the midfielder’s exit from Anfield.

“I’m surprised because I have to say I was skeptical when he left having played so many games the season before.” In other news, a pundit has claimed Liverpool have pulled off a ‘stroke of genius’ after Takumi Minamino reveal via Sky.

However, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one said the 31-year-old’s move to Paris Saint-Germain “has not worked out” for the player.

“It has not worked well for the player but Liverpool have done well without him.

On his personal Twitter (29 June), Wijnaldum posted pictures of himself sharing a drink with his former teammate Mohamed Salah.

When asked by Football Insider if Wijnaldum likely regretted switching Anfield for PSG last year, Robinson said: “It has not worked out for Wijnaldum really.

In July 2021, Wijnaldum joined PSG on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract on Merseyside.
