Raheem Sterling has opted to not make a significant alteration to his current deal with Chelsea which could lead to a revival of his career.
Unable to bag a move away from the Blues during the summer, sources have told Football Insider that Sterling will stay at Chelsea until January whilst he contemplates his options for a transfer out of Stamford Bridge.
Football Insider revealed on 9 September that Sterling changed his mind on a move to Saudi Arabia or Turkey from Chelsea with his preference for staying in the country partially due to family reasons.
The 30-year-old has struggled since arriving in west London but former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan claimed that Sterling is to blame for his poor spell at Chelsea.
Yet, the England international has not considered a pay cut in his lucrative £325,000-per-week contract (BBC Sport) which is preventing him finding an exit from the Blues.

Discussing the dire situation the ex-Man City starlet is enduring at Chelsea on talkSPORT (19 September), former Tottenham striker Alan Brazil and ex-Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour touched on what the Englishman should do.
Alluding to Three Lions colleague Marcus Rashford’s ongoing revival at Barcelona after his brace against Newcastle United in the Champions League, the pair were baffled to why Sterling didn’t consider altering his current deal.

Brazil said: “I think he’s [Sterling] got to look at Rashford last night and think, ‘All right, he can do it.
I can do it’.”

To which Parlour replied: “Also, I don’t know why he didn’t sort of take a pay cut.
“But if you really want to play, how much money would he have in the bank now?
Sterling?
It’d be plenty of money to live for the rest of his life.
“So you’ll regret it when you finish your career just to go out and say, ‘Look, I’ll have £100,000-a-week and still I can play week in week [out].”
Having broken through the Liverpool academy the speedster has enjoyed an excellent Premier League career which has come to a halt since arriving at Stamford Bridge.
The England international was immensely successful at both his previous employers before a big-money move to west London stunted the awesome growth which has now fallen flat.
When considering his international teammates such as Rashford and Jack Grealish at Everton, Sterling must see the benefits of swallowing your pride to play elsewhere.

For the Blaugrana ace, the former Man United man took a drastic cut in wages in order to land his marquee move to the financially constricted Barcelona.
The ex-Aston Villa maestro gave up a glittering trophy cabinet at the Etihad to battle it out under David Moyes with the Toffees which has so far proved to be an outstanding success.
If Sterling can take a pay cut which opens up the chance to play in the Premier League, you can never rule him out of making a dramatic push for the Three Lions squad ahead of next summer.
