Arne Slot defied the odds throughout the 2024-25 campaign with nobody expecting the Dutchman to win Liverpool the Premier League title at the first time of asking.
Not only does this outline how strong of a squad Jurgen Klopp built during his time in charge of Liverpool, but it also shows how adaptable Slot is.
This summer, things have been a little different with Liverpool spending almost £200million on four new players.
However, Darren Bent believes that something strange has happened at Anfield this summer as Klopp was never given the same sort of backing that Slot has received this season.
Speaking live on talkSPORT, Andy Goldstein and Bent were talking about Liverpool’s transfer business after the signing of Milos Kerkez was finalised.
“They make me nervous, Liverpool, fair play, Arne Slot came in and did a wonderful job by doing very little but he changed one or two bits and bobs,” Bent said.

Bent was then asked by Goldstein why Klopp didn’t get the same backing, to which he replied: “I don’t know, it’s quite strange, maybe it was building up to this point.
“Maybe if Klopp were still there, he might have got this big chunk of cash [to spend].”
As mentioned, there are still a couple of different areas within Slot’s squad that could do with strengthening.
Both players fill positions that Liverpool need to improve upon; however, both will cost a hefty chunk of change.
