Having played less than 340 minutes across all competitions, the Belgian striker is in search of more minutes.

Over the past few months, Origi has been linked with Lazio, FC Schalke 04 and now RB Leipzig.

With the Merseyside club poised to sell Origi in the summer, they may want to use this as a way of increasing the striker’s value. Divock Origi’s Liverpool contract runs until June of 2024.

A very impressive 2014 World Cup, where he became Belgium’s youngest ever World Cup goal scorer, saw Origi join the Reds for £10 million.

His World Cup performances lead to Origi being named the 2014 Belgian young sportsman of the year.

The striker has had a very inconsistent Liverpool career, and has been loaned out on two separate occasions.

During his 2014/15 loan spell at French club Lille, Origi was voted into the Ligue 1 worst team of the season.

However, even after all of this, Origi has become something of a Liverpool cult hero.

Having scored several unforgettable goals for the Reds, Origi is undoubtedly a Liverpool legend. Mention the words “corner taken quickly” to a Liverpool supporter and watch their eyes light up.

However, ask those same supporters if he should be sold and you will get a much different response.

The memories of Origi will be there forever, but his goals have disappeared this season.

Origi winces after a missed opportunity

Origi has made a total of 10 appearances starting just three times and scoring once.

If RB Leipzig make a loan move for Divock Origi this January, it will be hard for Michael Edwards and Liverpool to turn it down.
