Harvey Elliott’s career at Liverpool seems to be coming to an end.
The 22-year-old joined Liverpool in 2019 from Fulham.
He has won two Premier League titles, amongst other honours, at the team his supported growing up.
Elliott impressed during England U21 European Championships, capping off an impressive win with the Player of the Tournament accolade.
“I don’t really want to be wasting years of my career because it’s a short career,” Elliott said prior to winning the tournament with England.
“You don’t know what’s going to happen.
If Elliott had his way he would stay at Anfield for the rest of his career but he is realistic in terms of game time.
Offer expected from RB Leipzig
Leipzig are expected to make an offer this week.
He sees it as an ideal opportunity to earn a regular spot in England squads with the World Cup in 2026.
Elliott is seen as a potential replacement for Xavi Simons, who is expected to leave the German side.
He played just 28 times for Liverpool last season across all competitions.
With Liverpool strengthening its squad further this summer, Elliott knows he needs to move on for regular game time.
It has been reported that Liverpool want a fee of £40M for Elliott with a buy-back option or £50M without one.
He will leave Liverpool as a fan favourite with his loyalty to their shirt unquestionable.
