Liverpool remain active in the transfer market this window, and there could be more signings on the way before the deadline.
Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak continues to be linked with a move to Anfield after informing the club he wants to explore opportunities elsewhere.
Isak reported to the club’s training ground after his personal training camp in Spain on Monday.
The 25-year-old had been training at his former club Real Sociedad’s headquarters on his own, after refusing to join Newcastle’s pre-season tour of Asia, having reported a thigh injury.
Manager Eddie Howe was left unimpressed and insisted that the Sweden international must ‘earn the right’ to train with the squad.
“You have to earn the right to train with us,” Howe said.
“We are Newcastle United.
The player has a responsibility here to be part of a team and part of a squad – you have to act in the right way.
So that is also at play here.
“We will make sure that any player does that to earn the right to train with the group.
No player can expect to act poorly and train with the group as normal.”
Several Liverpool players continue to be linked with a move away from the club, including Harvey Elliott.
Elliott has already hinted he could leave this summer after struggling for playing time last season.
“If I had it my way, I would be (at Liverpool) for the rest of my career — it’s as simple as that,” he said after open training during Liverpool’s summer tour in Hong Kong.
“I love everything about the club, but at the same time I kind of need to be selfish and see what’s best for me.
“I have big ambitions.
I need to have a talk with everyone and review the situation.
“We have many new players who have come in so whether it blocks the path for me, I’m not sure.”
West Ham United, Newcastle United, and RB Leipzig have all been linked with the 22-year-old.
According to Sky Germany’s Philipp Hinze, Leipzig remain interested in Elliott, but financially, securing the deal remains challenging.
A potential departure of Xavi Simons could influence the situation as Elliott remains on Leipzig’s radar, though the deal is tough to finalise.
Elliott was on the scoresheet as Liverpool saw off Athletic Bilbao 4-1 in the first of their two pre-season meetings at Anfield on Monday.
