Chelsea star Raheem Sterling is attracting interest from a number of Premier League clubs alongside interest from the MLS and Saudi Pro League this summer.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson explained that the 30-year-old is set to make the final decision about his future and will have his pick of multiple potential destinations.

Sterling’s experience and fitness have been heavily praised and would be a strong asset to any club despite him not having a future at Chelsea.

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 31 July that Sterling is interested in joining Fulham following a difficult spell at Arsenal.

Marco Silva’s side are believed to be one of a number of Premier League clubs keeping an eye on the forward’s future as he is increasingly likely to move on.

However, former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson told Football Insider that Sterling’s wages could be a problem for Fulham and a loan deal may be preferable.

This article contains exclusive comment from Paul Robinson, a football pundit and former England, Tottenham and Leeds goalkeeper.

Brown told Football Insider in March that Sterling wants to stay in the Premier League in the upcoming season and is “certain” to leave Stamford Bridge.

The England international is not believed to be demanding to play European football as had previously been the case, opening the door to new opportunities.

Robinson explained that he is now surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge, but will have his choice of Premier League, Saudi Pro League and MLS clubs.

“He’s clearly not going to be part of what’s happening under Enzo Maresca,” he told Football Insider.

“He’s 30 years old and has two years left on his contract, but with the wide players they’ve brought in, he’s surplus to requirements and I don’t see that changing.

“He’s a player who’s played nearly 400 Premier League games.

“You say it didn’t work for him last year, but he made 28 appearances for Arsenal and he’s an extremely fit and talented player.

“Whether he wants to stay in the Premier League, wants to play in the Saudi Pro League, the MLS, wherever he wants to play he’ll be the master of his own destiny.

“I don’t see his future being at Stamford Bridge having been on loan last year.

“But the deal has got to be right for Chelsea and right for the player.”

Sterling is not the only player being heavily linked with a move away from Chelsea in the closing stages of the window, with Nicolas Jackson also expected to leave.

Football Insider revealed on 9 August that Newcastle have set their sights on signing Jackson after missing out on a deal for Benjamin Sesko.

The Blues have slapped an initial £80million asking price on Jackson, however, sparking doubts about whether Newcastle will be prepared to match that fee.

This comes after Football Insider exclusively revealed on 18 July that Jackson is unhappy at Chelsea following the signings of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap.
