Tottenham have agreed a deal to sign Randal Kolo Muani from PSG on loan for the 2025/26 season.

The Frenchman has fallen out of favour at the Parc des Princes and spent the last half of the 2024/25 season on loan at Juventus.

During his time in Turin, Kolo Muani scored 10 times in 22 games under Igor Tudor.

Tottenham have been relying on Richarlison to lead their line to begin the season, following Dominic Solanke’s injury.

But with the Englishman’s injury more serious than first suspected and surgery now a possibility, Spurs have moved to sign a new number nine.

PSG had been hoping to include a buy obligation in Kolo Muani’s loan move to Tottenham on deadline day.

The French side’s insistence on including the clause threatened to end any chance of the striker moving to North London after agreeing personal terms.

But The Athletic reports that Kolo Muani is now on his way to London to undergo a medical, and the loan deal will have no option or obligation to make the transfer a permanent deal at the end of the season.

The 26-year-old had been negotiating a return to Juventus, but “talks collapsed over the weekend”, giving Tottenham the chance to steal ahead and sign the French striker.

Football Insider Verdict

In a weird and very roundabout sort of way, the signing of Kolo Muani on loan will help alleviate Tottenham’s issues in the attacking midfield position.

James Maddison suffered an ACL injury in a pre-season game against Newcastle, sparking concerns about a lack of depth at the position.

However, whilst Kolo Muani is more naturally a striker, he is also comfortable playing at right-wing.

This then allows Thomas Frank to move Mohammed Kudus inside to play as a 10, where he often thrived during his time at Ajax, and occasionally for West Ham.

What’s more, should Kolo Muani’s time in North London underwhelm, Tottenham are in a position where they can explore different options next summer, rather than being locked in on signing the 26-year-old.
