Rangers could be forced to accept “huge” offers for Hamza Igamane before the transfer window closes if they miss out on Champions League qualification.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed what sources have told him about the 22-year-old’s future after an initial loan offer from Lille was turned down.
This comes after the forward refused to come off the bench during the 1-1 draw against St Mirren, casting more doubt over his future at the club.
Football Insider revealed on 2 August that Igamane’s future could depend on Rangers’ Champions League qualification, while they have placed a £15million price tag on him.
However, following a 3-0 first leg defeat against Club Brugges, the club look set to miss out on the huge financial windfall that comes with playing in the competition.
As a result, Football Insider revealed that Rangers are expecting offers for Igamane as a number of clubs are weighing up permanent offers.

Former Aberdeen CEO Keith Wyness, speaking to Football Insider, labelled Lille’s offer for Igamane “ridiculous” as it was never likely to be accepted.

Their move to take the forward on loan was rejected out of hand with “no chance” of a temporary deal happening before the close of the window.
However, O’Rourke explained that permanent moves will have a better chance at being accepted with a £15million fee now likely to be enough.
“I think they’d be willing to let him go if Lille or whoever else is interested in Igamane would stump up the money for him,” he told Football Insider.
“Rangers are looking big though for Igamane, around nearly £15million.
Definitely not.
“With Rangers looking like they’re going to crash out of the Champions League and missing out on the riches that come with that, maybe then they might be forced to cash in.
“They’ll be hoping that somebody can make a big offer for Igamane as well.
“And as I said, it would have to be big money because Rangers are only going to probably allow him to leave if a huge offer does come in.”

Alongside speculation surrounding Igamane’s future, doubts have also emerged about Russell Martin’s position following a poor start to the season.
Football Insider revealed on 25 August that Martin is facing “huge” pressure at Rangers, with fans now beginning to turn on the manager.
Frustration is continuing to build amongst the supporters, but pressure from the stands at Ibrox is currently believed to be greater than that from the boardroom.
However, Football Insider revealed on 22 August that Rangers are not expected to sack Martin despite the “embarrassing” showing against Brugge last week.
