Rangers are expecting offers for their star players including Nicolas Raskin and Hamza Igamane before the end of the transfer window.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed what sources have told him about Russell Martin’s transfer plans in the closing stages of the summer window.

Should either of Rangers’ star players leave, the club are prepared to use the money from their sales to reinvest and strengthen the first-team squad.

This comes after Football Insider revealed on 12 August that Rangers are expecting to receive offers for Igamane as interest continues to grow from across Europe.

Everton, Feyenoord, Rennes, Udinese and Lille are all keeping a close eye on his situation but have not been moved to make a formal offer so far this summer.

Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on 15 August that Premier League clubs are looking at Raskin amid suggestions he may have had his head turned.

Russell Martin revealed that clubs have been in contact with Raskin leading to uncertainty [via the Sun], but Rangers are determined to keep hold of him.

Should the Belgium international leave, the club will target a direct replacement in the middle of the park in a bid to keep the squad strong given his importance in that role.

O’Rourke explained that any big-name sales at this stage would be used to fund replacements and to strengthen the squad before the window closes.

“They haven’t lost any of their big players so far,” he told Football Insider.

“If they were to lose either of those two players, that would obviously give them more money to spend and allow Russell Martin to go into the market and improve his squad.

“If they were to lose Raskin, they’d look to bring in another central midfielder to fill his shoes.

“Martin will be attentive still in the transfer market, looking to see what else he can bring in.

“The spine of the team is probably where the focus will be, that’s the key for them.”

Raskin and Igamane are not the only players who could be leaving Ibrox before the transfer window closes, with Ridvan Yilmaz also linked with an exit.

Football Insider revealed on 11 August that Yilmaz is closing in on a move away from Rangers while talks have taken place with Besiktas.

The left-back has long been linked with a return to his home country after clubs failed in late bids last year, but Besiktas are planning to push for the move.

Meanwhile, Football Insider first revealed in January 2024 that Turkish clubs including Galatasaray wanted to sign Yilmaz, who remains keen on a return to Turkey.
