Rangers have been tipped to make £30million profit on an incoming attacker over the next few years.
Russell Martin is desperate to make further additions to his squad before the window slams shut, after a disappointing opening day performance against Motherwell.
The Gers began their Scottish Premiership campaign with a 1-1 draw away at Fir Park, with James Tavernier’s first-half opener cancelled out by Emmanuel Longelo’s late strike.
Last week (24 July), Rangers had a £10m bid rejected by Crystal Palace for young winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, as they look to improve their attacking ranks.
Aberdeen’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Pittodrie between 2000 and 2004, had lengthy spells as the chief of Everton and Aston Villa and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that despite a failed first attempt, the deal will eventually go through.
Rangers could sign Rak-Sakyi

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that if Rak-Sakyi does well at Rangers, then he could be sold for £30m to £40m further down the line.
The young winger has had loan spells at Charlton Athletic and Sheffield United in the past few years, as well as making eight Premier League appearances for Palace.
Wyness added that Rak-Sakyi is a talent and could be a great investment for the future.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I think it’ll get done from what I’m hearing again.
Look, for a player to come in there at around £10m, if he does well with Rangers, you can see him going for £30m – £40m.
“That’s exactly what Rangers have got to be doing, and that’s the strategy that Celtic have used.
“£10m is nothing in the Premier League, but for Rangers, it’s a lot.
“What the SPL in general should be doing is becoming a showcase of young talent.
Rangers and Celtic have got to lead the way in that, and so it’s positive for Rangers.
“I want them to be an exciting team again and let’s see if they can get into attacking football with Russell Martin.
I’m a big fan still.”

Meanwhile, Hamza Igamane’s future rests on the Champions League after Rangers made the striker’s transfer value clear, sources have told Football Insider.
Igamane has become the Gers’ most sellable asset this summer after 16 goals and three assists in his debut season at Ibrox, and a number of Premier League clubs have lined up moves for the 22-year-old.
Lille have also emerged as potential suitors for Igamane after West Ham United cooled their interest, but sources have told Football Insider that the French side have been unwilling to meet Rangers’ price tag.
Rangers will demand between £15m and £20million to sell Igamane this summer, but if Martin‘s side manage to qualify for the Champions League, their chances of keeping the striker will be boosted.
