Pep Guardiola is set to name his second Manchester City lineup of the Premier League season when the North West club host Tottenham on Saturday.

The Etihad Stadium side are searching for their second consecutive win, after new signing Tijjani Reijnders proved crucial in a 4-0 victory at Wolves on Saturday, 16 August.

Like Man City, Tottenham are also looking to make it two wins from two on 23 August, after beating newly-promoted Burnley 3-0 in their Premier League opener.

With the North Londoners set to visit Guardiola’s men, Spurs have set their sights on Monaco star Maghnes Akliouche as an alternative to signing City winger Savinho.

After scoring the final goal in the comprehensive win off the bench at Wolves, summer acquisition Rayan Cherki should be in line for a start against Thomas Frank’s side.

Meanwhile, Rodri and Ederson are both available for Saturday’s clash with the North London club, having missed out on the action at Molineux thanks to an injury and illness, respectively.

A fixture against a fellow Champions League club could see Guardiola select Ederson between the sticks rather than summer signing James Trafford.

Should Cherki come into the lineup, academy graduate Oscar Bobb will likely have to settle for a place on the substitutes’ bench despite his positive performance at Wolves.

Another change on the wings could also be seen, with Omar Marmoush replacing Belgium international Jeremy Doku.

Meanwhile, Josko Gvardiol, Mateo Kovacic, and Savinho all remain sidelined through injury.

Amid their aspirations to achieve further success in the future, Man City have handed a new contract to Ruben Dias.

Meanwhile, even though Tottenham won their first Premier League match under Frank, Guardiola’s side should have too much quality for the North London outfit.

The Etihad Stadium side have endured some tough results against Spurs in recent seasons, such as the 4-0 home defeat that they suffered last November, which saw a brace of goals from James Maddison.

However, after being knocked out of the Club World Cup by Saudi Pro League outfit Al Hilal last month, Man City look threatening in the Premier League once again, bolstered by the additions of Cherki and Reijnders.

While Tottenham are a stronger side than Wolves, if Guardiola’s side can produce a similar performance to the one they enjoyed at Molineux, they should be too much for Frank’s men to cope with on Saturday.
