Trent Alexander-Arnold and his new Real Madrid teammates have paid their own classy tribute to Diogo Jota following the Liverpool stars tragic death.

Tributes have been flowing for the Portuguese star, who has died at the age of 28 following a car crash in Spain during the early hours of Thursday morning.

Jota had been traveling with his brother Andre Silva, who also died in the accident.

Jota’s Liverpool teammates - including Darwin Nunez, Alexis Mac Allister and Harvey Elliott - have been paying tribute throughout the day, with Arne Slot penning a heartbreaking tribute to his striker.

Tributes are planned across a host of games over the coming days, with players undergoing a minute’s silence at the Women’s Euros, which got underway this week in Switzerland.

Teams have also been showing their respect at the Club World Cup in the US, where former Liverpool vice-captain Alexander-Arnold has been playing for his new side after completing a move to Real earlier in the summer.

The Spanish side conducted a minute’s silence before training on Thursday as they prepared for their quarter-final against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.

Alexander-Arnold could be seen in one of the pictures posted as the players stood around the center circle to pay their respects for Jota and his brother.

Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich also held their own minute’s silence ahead of facing each other on Saturday, as did Chelsea before the Blues’ clash with Brazilian side Palmeiras.

After training with his teammates, Alexander-Arnold posted an emotional tribute to Jota on Instagram, alongside a number of pictures of the pair together back at Liverpool.

“It’s so difficult to find the right words when your head and heart are struggling to accept that someone you care so much about has gone,” Alexander-Arnold wrote.

“Diogo, your family was your world.
