All-but certainly going to Real Madrid, the full-back would appear to be walking into a club going through an important changing of the guard.
As the new week began it was confirmed Los Blancos' manager of four years, Carlo Ancelotti, is to become the next head coach of the Brazilian national team.
But as of this point such that detail has only been clarified by his new employers - his current ones have neither acknowledged it nor said he is leaving the club Alexander-Arnold stands to leave Liverpool for.
This was top of the agenda as the Italian sat in front of the press on Tuesday, with a hint of angst from the boss being questioned.

"Madrid will release the statement whenever it wants, and there's no problem whatsoever, and they'll do so when they deem it appropriate," Ancelotti clarified, adding.

After more intense interrogation the Real manager was finally asked if he was happy, as he did not seem so.
"Yes, I'm very happy.
If I didn't have the press conference today it would be fantastic, but there are things I can't explain right now because I'm at Madrid and I want to respect this shirt," he said with an air of vagueness towards deeper problems in the Spanish capital.
"I want to respect it until the very last day.
I wanted to win La Liga, the Champions League, but I'm very happy."
Alexander-Arnold is expected to join this club once his Liverpool contract expires, or perhaps even sooner if an agreement is able to be made before the FIFA Club World Cup begins in June.
Reports in the national press say Real have contacted Liverpool to request that Alexander-Arnold play for them in the competition.
But he is looking head-on at a situation where he will not know who his new manager will be.
That is at least officially, anyway - former Reds and Real midfielder Xabi Alonso is to leave the Bayer Leverkusen dugout next week and is fully tipped to take the reins from the Italian.

It is just not set in stone yet, and even still the Spaniard will have a gigantic task on his hands going straight into a major tournament with a squad low on confidence as they seem set to lose the La Liga title race.
Asked for a word of advice for Alonso, Ancelotti responded: "I don't have any advice for him, he has all the tools to be a Real Madrid coach in the future."
