Xabi Alonso will replace Ancelotti and he is expected to be joined in the Spanish capital by Trent Alexander-Arnold, who confirmed earlier this month he will leave Liverpool this summer.
The LaLiga giants failed in a bid to sign the England international for a cut-price fee during the January transfer window.
And following confirmation from Alexander-Arnold last month that he will depart Anfield when his contract expires, Real made an initial approach to Liverpool over signing him in time for the Club World Cup.
The 26-year-old's Anfield deal expires officially on June 30, but the Spanish club would like to have him in the squad for the summer tournament in the United States.
