Liverpool are quickly running out of time to get a couple more deals done in the transfer window.

The Reds have done some good business over the summer months, but arguably need both a centre-forward and a centre-back before next Monday’s deadline.

The targets are clear, with Alexander Isak the priority up front and a deal for Marc Guehi is still possible at the back.

One of the players most in the spotlight over the past week has been last Friday’s hero Federico Chiesa.

Despite an exit for Chiesa feeling inevitable for most of the summer, his goal against Bournemouth has breathed new life into his Liverpool career.

Nevertheless, it is not yet certain that the Italian will still be a Liverpool player on September the 2nd.

Something that looks fairly sure, though, is that Chiesa will not be joining Bayern Munich.

14, journalist Christian Falk has claimed that it is not a possibility.

MORE LIVERPOOL STORIES

While Chiesa edges closer to staying at Liverpool for another season, the future of Harvey Elliott is becoming ever more unclear.

Elliott had to get used to a role on the bench for much of last term under Arne Slot and remained rooted to it once again as the Reds beat Bournemouth last weekend.

And according to a report from Give Me Sport, Elliott has decided he wants to join RB Leipzig ahead of the transfer deadline.

They claim that despite a late hijack attempt from former club Fulham, Elliott thinks Leipzig represents the best move at this stage of his career.

A deal could reportedly be agreed in the final days of the window.

Finally, although Liverpool appear to be mainly focused on Isak and Guehi in terms of incomings for now, they will slowly be planning ahead for the summer of 2026.

When that finally comes around, the Reds could need a midfielder, and Adam Wharton has been mentioned as a player who could be of interest.

According to Spanish outlet AS, however, Real Madrid are stepping up interest in Wharton as they attempt to gazump Premier League bidders.

Liverpool are said to be one of the teams who have the 21-year-old down as a priority target, but Madrid are reportedly set to firm up their interest over the course of the coming season.

Bad news for Liverpool, as they begin to build their plans for the future.
