Liverpool are on the verge of their third major signing of the summer while shifting out a player who cannot quite make the cut.

For a team who look like they need to make some sales to balance the books, the Reds just keep on being linked with some of Europe’s elite.

Reinforcements all over the pitch could still be yet to come, but it appears as though Liverpool are focusing on the right areas, with a centre-back and striker the next two focal points.

This week is geared up to be a big one for the future of many players, whether they be current or potential future Liverpool stars, and Arne Slot could have a much changed first-team squad by this time next week.

Three targets have been heavily linked with Liverpool since the start of the summer and two of them have already arrived, with Milos Kerkez the last and set to finally become a Liverpool player very soon.

It has been confirmed that Kerkez has flown to Liverpool this afternoon to finalise his £40m move from Bournemouth, putting to bed weeks of uncertainty.

Legal issues delayed his move to Anfield but they are clearly resolved and Kerkez, who has been desperate to become a Red since the start, looks like he is finally about to get his wish.

Kerkez’s dad may have already unofficially announced his son’s transfer, but Liverpool look set to do it for real, although ‘Milos Monday’ may have the less catchy title of ‘Milos Tuesday’ as he is unlikely to be unveiled tonight – but it is still a possibility.

Raising funds is essential for Liverpool to be able to operate sustainably, and they may have received the best news in regards to achieving this.

Darwin Nunez desperately wants to join Napoli according to Fabrizio Romano, with the Uruguayan excited by their project, ideas and manager.

Nunez has been Napoli’s ‘dream’ target this summer and with the player now on-board, they have leap-frogged other teams who were in the queue first.

Liverpool could use Nunez in a swap deal for Victor Osimhen, although this week is when negotiations will begin to intensify.

The Reds are desperate for a centre-back and Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi is a very viable option, especially as the south London club do not want to lose him for free.

However, Guehi is ready to say no to Liverpool as he wants to be a guaranteed starter to ensure he makes it into the England squad, although Ibrahima Konate may be blocking his chances of getting this at Anfield.

Palace will likely settle for £50m for their captain as he enters the final year of his contract, especially as Guehi will not sign a new deal, but Liverpool face an uphill battle in trying to convince him to join.

In other news, Nat Phillips is on his way to West Brom this summer, while Liverpool may have proven why they can still sign Alexander Isak.
