The transfer window is starting to move towards its conclusion with Liverpool still needing to wrap up a couple of big deals.
It has been a busy few months at Anfield, but with three weeks left before the market closes, the Reds are not finished yet.
A centre-back is being actively targeted, while Liverpool could yet tie up a mammoth deal to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle.
As the days begin to tick down towards the start of the new Premier League season, here’s the latest news from the transfer rumour mill on Saturday.

One position Liverpool have not looked to strengthen so far this summer has been the midfield.
The Reds bolstered the middle of the pitch with four signings in 2023, and have since held off from doing further business.
And, as Rousing The Kop exclusively revealed on Saturday, Liverpool will not be attempting to sign Carlos Baleba from Brighton in the final weeks of the window.
With Manchester United sniffing around Baleba, there had been a feeling that Liverpool could bring their interest in the Cameroonian forward.
However, RTK understands that the Reds plan to re-assess the situation in 2026 if Baleba remains with Brighton.

Perhaps the biggest news of Saturday came in the ongoing saga of whether Isak will join Liverpool this summer.
So far, the feeling has been that the move largely hinges on whether the Magpies can find a suitable replacement.

However, on Saturday The Telegraph reported that Newcastle have told Isak he will not be sold no matter what this summer.
The Swede has reportedly been left furious by Newcastle’s stance, but will not be allowed to join Liverpool.
Nevertheless, comments from Eddie Howe on Friday night directly refuted this claim.

With the window soon closing, Liverpool’s targets are becoming much more clear.
As a result, there are less spurious rumours going around.
In terms of at centre-back, there has been a lack of clarity over which direction the Reds will go in.
The fog has started to clear in recent days, though, with Parma’s Giovanni Leoni emerging as a genuine target for Liverpool.
And according to journalist Fabrizio Romano on Saturday, Liverpool’s interest in Leoni is getting ‘stronger and stronger.’
The Reds have seemingly taken a step forward in the transfer as they aim to see off competition from Inter Milan.
