The summer transfer window has delivered its share of dramatic twists, but few stories have captured the football world’s attention quite like Alexander Isak’s increasingly contentious situation at Newcastle United.

What began as whispered interest from Liverpool has now escalated into a full-blown transfer saga that has the Swedish striker training alone at Real Sociedad’s facilities while his future hangs in the balance.

While the Geordie club maintains he is recovering from a minor thigh injury, the striker has been conspicuously absent from their tour of Asia.

More tellingly, Sky Sports revealed that Isak is currently training at Real Sociedad’s state-of-the-art Zubieta facilities, working with personal trainers while his teammates compete in Singapore and South Korea.

This arrangement has certainly raised eyebrows.

It is believed that Newcastle insist they are aware of Isak’s whereabouts, but his choice to train at his former club’s facilities rather than remain at the club’s Benton training ground speaks volumes

In a recent update on his YouTube channel, Sky Sports’ northeast reporter Keith Downie expressed confidence that Liverpool can ultimately persuade Newcastle United to sell Alexander Isak—provided the Reds are willing to break the British transfer record with their offer.

He added that the “deal will get done” if Liverpool table a serious bid:

“As you all know, his head’s been turned.

I fully expect if Liverpool come to the table and offer a big offer, that deal will get done,” he asserted.

“It’s just whether Liverpool can come up with the funds or not.”

DaveOCKOP.com exclusively reported on Wednesday that Liverpool are likely to sign Isak for £120M plus add ons this window.

Downie’s ballpark figure of £135m lines up with our information:

“I know Newcastle have set the fee at £150m and that’s what they want?

I think they’ll end up doing a deal for around about £135m, something like that, which still smashes the Premier League record,” he said.

“I just think, ‘What’s the point in having a player who’s unsettled, who’s unhappy, who’s maybe causing some problems?’… I think once a player’s head is turned, it’s hard to get them on it.”
