The fallout from a hectic Merseyside Derby is continuing this week as Liverpool come to terms with two points dropped.
It was not a good night for the Reds, who surrendered a hard-fought lead in the final seconds of the game.
Ultimately, the point itself may prove to be an important one, as it put Liverpool seven clear at the top of the Premier League table.
Nevertheless, conceding an equaliser as they late as they did always feels like a defeat and the Liverpool squad will be desperate to put things right on Sunday against Wolves.
In the meantime, reaction from the drama at Goodison Park continues to filter through.
Reds’ players were angry at full-time after Curtis Jones clashed with Abdoulaye Doucoure, and it has been claimed that the frustration boiled out into the Goodison Park tunnel.
Interestingly, after an especially good performance and a goal in the match, Alexis Mac Allister is said to have been leading the charge for Liverpool.

Mac Allister was probably Liverpool’s best player in the Merseyside Derby.
Amid a sea of underwhelming performances, the Argentine stood up to be counted in the middle of the Reds midfield.

Michael Owen hailed Mac Allister’s ‘perfect’ headed goal but Liverpool’s £35m man was impeccable in plenty of other areas of the game, too.

But according to The Daily Mail, it was not his fellow Reds who the 26-year-old was fuming with at the final whistle.
Mac Allister is said to have been ‘extremely vocal’ inside the Goodison tunnel, with a number of Liverpool stars claimed to have been ‘venting their anger’ – seemingly towards the officials.
There is hope that this is not an issue come the summer and that Virgil van Dijk has carried on at Liverpool and as the team’s captain.
However, it’s also worth pointing out that as well as losing top players, the Reds are also currently slated to let both their captain and vice captain leave this summer.

That means that someone among the Liverpool squad will have to step up and take command.
There are plenty of candidates, but given his age and his importance for the future, Mac Allister is really worthy of a shout.
Conor Bradley hailed Mac Allister as a role model after Wednesday’s game and with his experience as a World Cup winner in the pocket, the little maestro is a dark horse to wear the armband one day.
