After wrapping up the Premier League title at the weekend, all eyes at Liverpool are turning towards the transfer market.
Reds supporters have come to expect inactivity over the summer months, with incoming business usually at a premium.
However, this time looks set to be different.
Having taken a full season to assess the Liverpool squad at their disposal, Arne Slot and Richard Hughes are preparing to splash the cash.
There have been claims that Liverpool are expecting some ‘heavyweight’ additions in what sounds like being an exciting window.
And as fans start to ponder who that could be, a big name over in Spain sounds to be gearing up for a departure.
Having been linked with Liverpool in the recent past, Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes is reportedly preparing to leave the Spanish capital this summer.

One thing that looks to be fairly certain for Liverpool this summer is that they’ll be in the market for at least one new forward.
Ideally, Slot needs a new starting striker, with Alexander Isak still the top target in that respect.
But with a deal for Isak looking uncertain, Liverpool may need to go down a different route.

And according to Spanish outlet Radio MARCA, Rodrygo could soon be on the market as one of those options.
They claim that the 24-year-old is seriously considering to leave Madrid after suffering a ‘tough’ period of being in and out of the team.

Having fallen behind Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jnr and even Jude Bellingham as a key player for Carlo Ancelotti, it’s claimed that Rodrygo has decided he may need to move on in order to shine.
The new incoming coach – expected to be Xabi Alonso – could reportedly convince Rodrygo to stay.
However, with the Brazilian said to be not short of offers from both Saudi Arabia and Europe, it is looking more likely than ever that he leaves.
Liverpool have been linked with Rodrygo over recent years as the Brazil international struggles to nail down a place in the Real Madrid starting XI.

Before that, though, Rodrygo has himself admitted that Liverpool did in fact try and sign him from Santos for just 3 million Euros before he joined the Spanish giants.
“We didn’t close the deal because I didn’t want to,” he told The Guardian in April 2024.
But it’s true, I almost went to Liverpool.”
Rodrygo went on to join Real for around £38m in the summer of 2018.
With Michael Edwards seemingly convinced over the Madrid man eight years ago, maybe it’s finally time for the Reds to return to the table.
