A number of different players have been linked with a Liverpool move over the last couple of weeks, but now, one name seems to have emerged above the rest.

Although Wirtz’s move was set in stone a couple of weeks ago, if you’d have said to a Liverpool fan that the young German would be joining them at the end of the 2024-25 campaign, they’d have laughed you out.

And, even though Wirtz’s move has dominated headlines, the Reds seem to have a new target in their sights in Olympique Lyon ace Malick Fofana.

Other clubs such as Chelsea have been linked with an interest over the last couple of weeks, but with Tavolieri saying that the attacker is worth around €50million (£42million), a deal with Liverpool could well be on the cards.

That is, especially if either Diaz or Nunez chooses to exit this summer.

Changes have been aplenty at Liverpool thus far, and until deadline day hits, the Reds can never be ruled out of any deal.
