Liverpool’s academy is famed for producing some top talents.

The Reds’ first-team are having a very successful time on the pitch, and this has been the case for a number of years now.

Although they have some of the best talents in world football and spend hundreds of millions in the transfer market, there is still a pathway for younger stars.

Rio Ngumoha is the perfect example of if a player is good enough, they are old enough, and they will get a chance to prove it.

And if comparisons are anything to go by, Liverpool might just have the next big thing, with one of their stars being likened to a certain Erling Haaland.

Of course, when a player first comes through, they will always be compared to a star player who has made it in the game, whether that be due to representing the same nation or playing in the same position.

This is the case for all age groups, and despite only playing for the under 15s, Liverpool have been told they have a striker who plays similarly to Man City striker Haaland.

As reported by journalist Lewis Steele of the Daily Mail, he has been told by an academy expert that youngster Harrison O’Brien is ‘scarily good’, so much so he has resemblances to Haaland.

In fact, just last week, he scored six during Liverpool’s 7-1 win over Stoke City, proving that he knows where the back of the net is.

He concluded that O’Brien is certainly someone to keep an eye out for, with this kid having the potential to go right to the very top.

Another reason these Haaland comparisons are not as crazy as they may sound is because last time a youngster was heavily praised, he proved the doubters wrong.

Steele also reported several months ago that Joshua Abe was a player to watch, and the 15-year-old has just gone and made his debut for the under 21s this week.

He played in a friendly against Bolton, with Steele simply saying ‘he is a talent, for sure,” suggesting his progress needs to be tracked.

Overall, it is an exciting time to be in the Liverpool academy, and who knows, there could be some big chances for these stars in the near future.
