Arsenal made a late attempt to sign Isaque Silva, an 18-year-old attacking midfielder from Fluminense, who has also attracted interest from Liverpool and Manchester City. Despite Arsenal's efforts, Silva is set to join Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk, having agreed to a deal reportedly worth €10 million plus €2 million in add-ons with Fluminense.
The Brazilian teenager has been part of Fluminense’s first team since late 2024, making 11 appearances, but has mostly played in youth competitions this season. While Arsenal reportedly submitted a higher financial offer than Shakhtar's, Silva and Fluminense have committed to the Ukrainian side, with Silva expected to travel to Donetsk for his medical and signing on August 26, 2025.

To facilitate the transfer, both Silva and his representatives reduced their stakes in his image rights, enabling the deal to progress smoothly. Fluminense also secured a 10% sell-on clause for any future transfer of the player.
Silva has expressed a long-term ambition to shine in the Premier League, but for now, his immediate next step will be in Ukraine. Liverpool’s scouts have monitored him closely, seeing similarities with former Reds star Roberto Firmino and viewing him as a player with potential to surpass the Brazilian international.
Although Arsenal and Liverpool showed genuine interest and tried to disrupt Shakhtar’s arrangement, the deal with Shakhtar Donetsk remained firm, with no indication that Silva will move to the Premier League in the short term.
