Liverpool have managed to ruffle the feathers of some rival supporters during this summer’s transfer window.
Having seen the Reds win the Premier League at a canter last season, it must be a difficult time to support anyone but Liverpool.
And that feeling has continued into the summer, with the Reds obliterating their transfer record to sign Florian Wirtz on Friday.
Wirtz is one of Europe’s premier talents and had been expected to depart for Bayern Munich, Manchester City or Real Madrid.
But while Madrid knew Wirtz only wanted Liverpool and City bowed out of the race early on, it was Bayern who were the most hurt by losing out on the 22-year-old.
After seeing Wirtz join Liverpool on Friday, the Bundesliga champions have seemingly resolved not to do any business with the Reds for the remainder of the summer.

Liverpool and Bayern have done a fair bit of business over recent years.
Thiago Alcantara and Ryan Gravenberch have swapped the Allianz Arena for Anfield, while Sadio Mane has gone the other way.
With Bayern once again on the lookout for another forward this summer, there have been rumours that they could be targeting Liverpool winger Cody Gakpo.

Liverpool are keen to keep Gakpo having seen him score 18 goals last season.
But the Dutchman has also failed to fully nail down a spot in Arne Slot’s team, so a move has not initially seemed completely impossible.
However, according to German outlet Kicker, Liverpool’s signing of Wirtz has played a part in the German giants pulling out of the race.

They claim that Bayern are now ‘reluctant’ to supply the Reds with further funds having seen Wirtz ‘snatched away’ to Anfield.
Furthermore, Gakpo himself is said to have many ‘sceptics’ at Bayern, with some inside the club reportedly unconvinced that the 26-year-old is worth anything like the £60m Liverpool would demand.
If Bayern were willing to stump up the £60m quoted to buy Gakpo, it would be fascinating to see whether Liverpool would play ball.

While he has been a good signing since arriving from PSV Eindhoven in 2023, there remains a feeling that Gakpo has never truly hit the heights expected of him at Anfield.
Still only 26, there is a chance he continues to get better at Liverpool and that’s what Slot will be hoping for.
But if Gakpo has another season of being in and out of the team, the player himself may decide upon a change in 2026.
For now, though, with Bayern’s interest fading away, it seems highly unlikely Gakpo will be going anywhere this summer.
