Kostas Tsimikas has become something of a cult-hero at Liverpool, with the left-back often putting in a more than solid shift when called upon by Arne Slot.

The self-proclaimed Greek scouser has been an immense player for Liverpool on his day, with Slot often entrusting him over the course of the season.

Andy Robertson’s form has dropped off a tad over the last year or so, which has paved the way for Tsimikas to show that he’s still got what it takes to perform at the highest level.

And, with the transfer rumours surrounding Milos Kerkez and Liverpool, it’s not surprising to see the future of the defender become a hot topic in the football world.

One of the Reds’ main priorities in the transfer window will be to improve their left-back situation, and with the transfer of Kerkez seemingly edging ever closer, a decision needs to be made.

Indeed, Michael Owen may have called Tsimikas “brilliant” after his performance against Crystal Palace earlier in the season, but that doesn’t mean he’s a better player than Kerkez.
