Liverpool are set for a big summer of transfers, yet one player who will not be joining them is centre-back Dean Huijsen.
The Spanish international was one of the breakout players in the Premier League this season with AFC Bournemouth with Liverpool eyeing Huijsen as a long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk, yet the Reds have already missed out on the 20-year-old.
Real Madrid won the race for Huijsen with Los Blancos triggering the defender’s £50m release clause, with the former Juventus wonderkid set to join Trent Alexander-Arnold in Spain as part of a new-look backline for the European giants.
Yet before even being officially revealed as a new Madrid player, Huijsen has told the La Liga side to move for one player who is already in talks to join Liverpool this summer.

According to Defensa Central, Huijsen has recommended that Madrid sign Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez, with the Hungarian international also having a fantastic season in the Premier League under Andoni Iraola.
Kerkez has agreed personal terms with Liverpool as the Reds look to bring in the former AZ Alkmaar star as their long-term replacement for Andy Robertson, with the Cherries’ left-back regarded as one of the most exciting fullback talents in Europe.
However, Huijsen suggesting to Madrid that they move for Kerkez could throw a big spanner in the works for Liverpool in their pursuit to sign the 21-year-old defender, who could have his head turned by the 15-time UEFA Champions League winners.

As a result, Liverpool need to move fast to secure Kerkez’s signature, with the Reds already missing out on one top talent from Bournemouth this summer in Huijsen, a mistake that the Merseyside giants cannot make again.
Liverpool are close to signing Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz, a sign of intent from the board and a message to supporters that the Reds are working to get their main targets over the line as quickly as possible this summer.
Yet with Madrid now having an incentive to sign Kerkez, Liverpool need to ensure that the Hungarian fullback is treated with the same amount of importance as Frimpong and Wirtz, three signings that could take the Reds to a new level heading into pre-season.
Indeed, Kerkez is a perfect left-back target for Liverpool, yet missing out on another exciting player to Madrid will sting for the Reds and supporters, which should be enough motivation for the Anfield side to go for broke for the Bournemouth man.
