Liverpool have a number of injury concerns going into the international break, with Darwin Nunez among those withdrawing from the Uruguay squad.
The big striker has been nursing a few problems of late and Nunez will no longer be part of the Uruguay squad for their upcoming internationals.
In a way, Nunez’s absence will please Jurgen Klopp. The striker can work back at Liverpool and make sure he’s fully ready to go for the run-in.
However, there are apparently fresh fears when it comes to £37m winger Luis Diaz.
Luis Diaz injury concern for Liverpool and Colombia
According to a report from AS, there is ‘alarm’ among the Colombian national team that Diaz is the latest player to be injured in their squad.
The Colombians are apparently worried after seeing a number of other players pick up knocks.
According to the report from AS, the likes of Ian Poveda and Yerry Mina have already left the squad, while Cristian Borja is another to have gone home.
There are apparently now fears in the camp that Diaz could follow suit.
Jurgen Klopp confirmed after the game with Manchester United that Diaz was feeling his groin. If he does end up playing for Colombia, Klopp will be a more than interested bystander.
Liverpool will be hoping for Nunez repeat with Luis Diaz injury
While in the media Liverpool and Klopp will be happy for their stars to go away, deep down, they’ll be hoping for as many to stay home as possible.
Nunez being out and back at the Liverpool training ground is a bonus. And if the same happens with Diaz, Liverpool will be happy about that as well.
Of course, Diaz is the star man for Colombia and loves playing for his country. But if there’s anyway Liverpool can exert some influence on this one, then you can bet they will do.
