Liverpool have a wealth of new talent ready to hit the ground running.

The Reds have been one of the most active teams in the transfer market so far and not only have they signed a lot of players, but they have only brought in high quality reinforcements.

They have refreshed both full-back positions and brought new life into the attack, with the signings of Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike the pick of the bunch.

Both of them played in the Bundesliga last season but only as opponents, now they have been brought together in the hope of creating a new dangerous partnership.

A lot of people knew what Wirtz would bring to the team given that he is one of the hottest young talents in world football, but Ekitike was a little bit more unknown.

However, based on what Liverpool’s record signing has seen from the Frenchman in training, it would suggest they have a serious player on their hands.

Settling in at a new club can be very challenging, especially as there is a good chance that it is the first time they would have met everyone.

The pressure of arriving with a big transfer fee can also cause added problems, although both Wirtz and Ekitike seem to be taking it in their stride thus far.

Wirtz has impressed all summer and Ekitike had an Anfield debut to remember, with his performance surprising a lot of fans.

However, it did not surprise the German, with the Reds’ new striker standing out in training ever since he arrived.

“He is a really good player and I enjoyed watching him at Frankfurt, I was really happy that he decided to come to us,” Wirtz said as per The Times.

“In the training sessions already, he went well and also in the game we had some combinations that were good.

I am really happy that I can play with him.”

It is the link-up play in particular that many supporters were in awe of, with the big Frenchman rather agile despite his six foot two inch frame.

Wirtz to Ekitike is certainly a combination that could be heard many times next season, indicating that Premier League defenders up and down the country might perhaps be feeling a little worried.

The Reds do not usually go all-out for a ready-made star that will cost hundreds of millions of pounds, meaning that when they signed Wirtz, it came as a real surprise.

Not only that, but the 22-year-old rejected approaches from Manchester City and Bayern Munich before moving to Anfield, with the attacking midfielder now revealing the reason why.

“I just want to play football and how much money the clubs pay between each other, it doesn’t matter,” Wirtz told The Times.

“I came because I thought I could fit in this team and I am enjoying staying with these players.

I am a player who needs freedom on the pitch and the manager gives it to me.

“I have not played a match in the Premier League, but I am looking forward to it and that is why I came.

I will try to find the right places to be and the right spaces to get on the ball and to be dangerous and create chances.”

All the signs are there that Liverpool have got a real world-beater on their hands, and fans will just be counting down the days until he shows the Premier League what he is made of.
