The Reds are in the midst of a big summer revamp and some of the biggest names are linked with a move away.

Once clubs find a star capable of holding down their position for a number of years, not much tends to change.

However, once they reach a certain age, they may decide to move on, and this is a dilemma that Liverpool are facing with a few of their key players.

In defence is where this seems to be occurring, with Andy Robertson just one player linked with a move away despite operating as the main left-back for the past eight years.

Although he hasn’t been around as long, Alisson has, arguably, been more important and also looked like he may leave this summer, but now the situation has changed and he may stay at Anfield a little while longer.

Goalkeepers have the hardest job in football as one mistake will not go unnoticed and can cost your team dearly.

Luckily for Liverpool, Alisson makes very few of these and has established himself as one of the best in world football, although at one point it looked like he may leave the Reds this summer.

Galatasaray were pushing hard for his signature but, since Turkish newspaper Fanatik revealed that they have reached an agreement with Barcelona’s Andre ter Stegen, it looks like the Brazilian may stay after all.

Alisson recently revealed that he expected to stay at Liverpool for two years as the club will likely trigger his extra year clause on his contract, although the interest in him from other clubs persisted.

Now, however, the 32-year-old appears to be going nowhere, for this summer at least, with Liverpool having a big decision regarding their goalkeeping situation for next season.

As many would expect, Alisson is almost nailed on to be first-choice goalkeeper next season despite the arrival of Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia.

The Georgian is still expected to get a good amount of game time in the cup competitions and, unlike many other goalkeepers, Alisson’s poor injury record means he could get some Premier League action too.

Mamardashvili is not the only keeper to arrive on the red half of Merseyside this summer as Liverpool have also signed Hungarian Armin Pecsi, although his role remains unclear.

He will likely train with the first team but play for the under 21s, unless Harvey Davies goes out on loan, then he could become the third-choice at the club.

The Reds certainly are not short of options but the key takeaway is that they should have their number one between the sticks by the time the new season rolls around.
