A regular scoring number nine was one of the main things that the Reds were missing last season, and even though Diaz and Cody Gakpo did a solid job of filling in, they’re both far more effective on the wing.

There’s no hiding from the fact that Arne Slot and Richard Hughes have already spent close to £200million on new recruits this summer, which begs the question: how can the Reds also afford to bring Isak in?
One of the things that Liverpool have been good at over the last few years is that they’ve not overspent or bought players in the market for no reason.
And, while this may have annoyed fans at the time, with the way things are headed this summer, it could end up being one of Liverpool’s best transfer windows of all time.
A report from journalist Dave Powell has now outlined how Liverpool could even begin to afford a move for Isak after spending what they’ve spent this summer.
“Based on Liverpool’s net + PSR position, and assuming profit for 24/25 (expected) then using the example of a £20m profit, plus allowable deductions and £105m PSR limit, LFC could still lose more than £200m in 25/26,” he wrote.

“And be PSR compliant after Isak, Wirtz, Kerkez, Frimpong and GM.”
He also replied to his tweet and added: “All hypothetical on Isak, I must add.
The Reds have already brought in the likes of Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez this summer, with those additions by themselves being an impressive window by their standards.
It’s an exciting time to be a Liverpool fan at the moment, and long may it continue.
