Liverpool have gone bold in the first transfer window this summer and sent a real statement of intent to the rest of the division.
The Reds mean business and after signing Jeremie Frimpong at the very start of the window, they will look to get Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez through the door as soon as possible.
Both players are very keen to join and there seems very little reason for any of the deals to fall through, with the two likely costing a combined fee of around £156m before add-ons.
This may leave many fans to think that Liverpool’s business is done there and all their focus will be on outgoings, however that is not the case.
Once the Reds have sold a few of their players, they are expected to make a few more signings, with the club appearing to not be worried about the financial side.
However, after looking set to sign Wirtz, Liverpool may have shot themselves in the foot and their pursuit of a Premier League star looks like it may have become a lot harder.

As expected, Leverkusen are looking for a replacement for the outgoing Wirtz, but whoever is tasked with that job certainly has big boots to fill.
Justin Kluivert is a player that they are considering to replace him, with CaughtOffside reporting that they have initiated contact with Bournemouth and are set to rival Liverpool and Manchester United for his signature.

The 26-year-old has had his best goalscoring season to date and netted 12 times in the Premier League this season, attracting interest from many of the top clubs.

The Cherries are under no pressure to sell but would likely ask for around £50m if they were to let him go, a rather modest price tag given the way the current market is going.
Under new manager Erik ten Hag, the Dutch connection may help, especially as a vacancy in that position has opened up, although with Kluivert rumoured to want to stay in the Premier League, Arne Slot’s Dutch revolution could be the project he decides to pick instead.
Liverpool have certainly made it harder for themselves after poaching Leverkusen’s best player, but that does not mean that they could not snatch another player from right under their noses.
An attacking overhaul is on many journalists’ lips this summer and the forward line could see a complete revamp ahead of the new season.
Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz could leave Liverpool this summer, leaving the Reds with plenty of space to fill and plenty of money to do so.
Kluivert could be a good option as he fits a similar mould being quick and tricky, while also now having the output to show for it.

Just last season, his manager Andoni Iraola labelled Kluivert as “amazing” after he netted a hat-trick against Newcastle, with his boss keen for him to be a part of their project next season too.
£50m is not a bad price for a player proven in the Premier League either, suggesting that moving for the 26-year-old may be less risky than some other targets and be money well spent.
