Liverpool have some big decisions to make regarding the future of their back line.
The Reds have had a huge summer so far in terms of incomings but they need to make some sales to balance the books.
The defence is an area of uncertainty as it is still unclear as to which players will still be there by the time the new season rolls around.
Jarell Quansah is set to join Bayer Leverkusen and is almost guaranteed to depart, while Joe Gomez’s future is still up in the air.
As for Ibrahima Konate, well, nobody truly knows where he will end up as his contract expires at the end of next season, with talks over a new deal reaching a stalemate.
However, his future now looks a little more clear as the Frenchman has reportedly made up his mind, leaving Liverpool with a big decision to make.

The Reds are at the top of their game and it appears as though they are only going to get better, with the team Arne Slot is building looking like a force to be reckoned with.
Many players would jump at the chance to play for the club due to this exciting future and many would never think of jumping ship, although it looks like Konate is ready to do just that.

According to Foot Mercato, the Frenchman has decided that he wants a ‘change of scenery’ next summer and is set to leave on a free transfer.
Liverpool were said to be fearing for the worst and desperately wanted to avoid another Trent Alexander-Arnold situation, but it looks as if they have failed in their attempts to tie him down to a new deal.

Konate was disappointed by the Reds’ last contract offer as he wanted a larger base salary, but the Merseyside club wanted to pay him more in performance-based bonuses.
Real Madrid are the team most likely to capitalise on his decision, but Liverpool may feel it is better to sell this summer for at least a small fee, with the club already having plenty of options lined up.
Just like all big clubs should, Liverpool already have a contingency plan in place and the links to Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi are becoming more and more clear as the days go by.
Now, the Reds could be set to make an offer for the 24-year-old as a replacement for Konate, potentially selling the Frenchman in the process.
Guehi wanted to be guaranteed minutes if he were to make the switch to Anfield, something he would now get if Konate is forced to the side or out of the club altogether.
It would be a shame to lose the 26-year-old as he is certainly one of the best defenders around, but as seen before, even though he may be a superstar, Liverpool are happy to let players go if they aren’t desperate to don the Red shirt.
