Liverpool want Sofyan Amrabat and it seems that Julian Ward is the man driving this interest in the Fiorentina and Morocco midfielder.
That’s according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, who claims that Liverpool’s sporting director Ward is a huge fan of Amrabat.
Liverpool target Amrabat has excelled at the World Cup
The World Cup in Qatar has been perfect for Amrabat, making himself a star on the biggest stage.
It seems that Ward has been tracking Amrabat for longer than just the World Cup though and is the key figure driving the Reds’ interest.
Plettenberg claims that there have been talks with Liverpool as they seek to bring Amrabat to the Premier League.
Amrabat fits that bill perfectly and it will now be down to Ward to try and convince Fiorentina to accept a January deal after all.
Pundit Joe Cole told ITV Sport (06/12, 3:54pm) suggested that Amrabat was ‘excellent’ whilst dealing with Barcelona wonderkids Gavi and Pedri in that game.
