After splurging a British record fee on Florian Wirtz, Liverpool are looking to balance the books this summer.
The Reds have spent close to £200m, and although they could do with adding to that figure before the window shuts in September, they need to sell before they do.
Negotiations are ongoing to ship Darwin Nunez to Napoli, and while rumours that a bid arrived for Luis Diaz on Thursday have been rubbished, both could yet leave.
But while Liverpool‘s men’s team are busy trying to bolster their transfer kitty, the women’s side have also been negotiating something fairly huge.
It has been a fairly tumultuous time for LFC Women, with long-term head coach Matt Beard leaving in February.
Interim boss Amber Whiteley led Liverpool to a respectable seventh-place finish in the Women’s Super League, but Whiteley has been dealt a number of blows ahead of the new season.
That has now continued, with star forward Olivia Smith all set to depart.

Earlier this summer, vice-captain Taylor Hinds also chose to leave.
After opting not to extend her contract, the 26-year-old re-joined former team Arsenal instead.
And as per The Guardian, the Gunners are set to pluck another top talent from Liverpool, with a world-record £1m fee agreed for forward Olivia Smith.

Smith will reportedly become the first ever transfer in the history of the women’s game to break the £1m barrier.
The Reds are said to have rejected offers from ‘numerous clubs’ for Smith, who they signed for £200k last summer.
However, Champions League holders Arsenal have now agreed a record-shattering fee.
As her status as the first ever £1m footballer would suggest, Smith is seen as a big star in the women’s game.
Having joined Liverpool from Portuguese side Sporting last year, the 20-year-old scored seven goals in 20 appearances in 2024/25.
Liverpoolfc.com described Smith as a ‘versatile attacker and midfielder’ and the Canadian’s loss will be a big blow ahead of the new campaign.
With such a big fee coming into the club, however, the hope will be that it can be reinvested in the right way to help Liverpool move forward.
