Liverpool are ensuring they do all they can to avoid other clubs stealing their players.
The Reds have had a rather remarkable start to their title defence, with the reigning champions sitting top of the tree after five games.
They have not looked all that convincing in terms of performances, but they seem to always find a way, just what champions tend to do.
Despite underwhelming performances, there have been a few players who have really caught the eye of many, with one in particular who has not only been key to their success this year, but last season too.
Arne Slot is desperate to keep hold of him for a long time too, and Liverpool look set to reward him with a brand new deal.

It is often the attackers at Liverpool who get all of the plaudits, but so far this season, it has been none other than Ryan Gravenberch.
The Dutchman has shone in the middle of the park for the Reds and, arguably, been their best player, with his captain Virgil van Dijk confirming that he is ‘in the form of his life’.
In fact, he has been so ‘incredible’ that Liverpool already want to tie him down to a longer contract despite his current one expiring in 2028.

According to journalist Alex Crook at talkSPORT, the Reds are set to offer him a new deal very soon, with his performances at the start of the season being a key reason for this.

He reports that there is no real urgency or need to get it done quickly, but the fact they want to shows just how important he is to the team as a whole.
Gravenberch only turned 23 in May, proving that he has so much yet to give, and with the midfielder only getting better and better, he really could reach the very top.
Ever since he moved into a holding midfielder role, Gravenberch has excelled and really changed the trajectory of his Liverpool career.
Once a bit-part player, the Dutchman is now simply essential to Slot’s team, and being so young, he could be for a very long time.
His versatility also helps massively as he can also play a little further forward in the number eight role, meaning he could become the real star in the middle of the park.
Offering him a new contract is certainly a positive sign for Reds fans, and based on how highly-rated he is at Anfield, it would be unlikely that he does not put pen to paper.
