Liverpool desperately want a striker but face stiff competition for their targets’ signatures.
The Reds have had their fair share of club legends in their time, and some in the current squad are well on their way to achieving that title.
The one below this is ‘cult hero’, which is often used to describe a player who was either not at the top of his game or was slightly not quite liked enough to move up into the top category.
Liverpool have also had a lot of those in their time and they are still on the hunt for players who fit into either one of these, preferably the legend status.
Now, they have highlighted a striker as a potential new arrival and, funnily enough, he has the same name as a former Anfield hero from the 2010s.

If you ask Liverpool fans to name some of the best strikers the club have had in more recent history, some of the first names to come up would be the likes of Fernando Torres, Roberto Firmino and, probably the best one, Luis Suarez.
The Uruguayan was certainly a controversial figure but there was no denying his footballing ability, with the Reds desperately looking for their ‘new Suarez’ this summer.

In fact, they might be taking this term quite literally, with A Bola reporting that Liverpool are interested in Almeria striker Luis Javier Suarez.
The Colombian international netted 31 goals in all competitions last season and is now one of the most in-demand strikers on the market, made even more attractive by his £22m valuation.
Manchester United, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Sporting CP and Sunderland are among the other clubs interested, indicating the level of talent he possesses.
Sporting appear the most likely at this stage as they see him as a replacement for Viktor Gyokeres, with the Swede nailed on to depart this summer, and Liverpool also interested in him.
Nothing against Suarez, but he isn’t exactly the ‘big name player’ that many Liverpool fans would have been hoping for this summer.
The Reds need a striker desperately this summer and they badly need to get it right after their failure with Darwin Nunez, with this potentially having the chance to propel Liverpool even further forwards.
Alexander Isak is the dream signing and links with him will get fans much more excited, whether he is truly viable is a conversation for another time after he has made his decision.
Gyokeres and Hugo Ekitike are other names linked, but Liverpool’s search for any player will have to wait a little while as much more important things are going on at the club at the moment.
