Liverpool are continuing to look for young talent to build their squad to last.

The Reds have had a slightly different approach in the transfer market this summer, as instead of buying players for the future, they have signed ready-made talent who will hopefully hit the ground running.

Saying that, by no means does that mean they are not still looking to the future, with Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards still keeping a close eye on youngsters they can turn into superstars.

Giovanni Leoni is the perfect example of this, but their scouting network extends far beyond the continent, with Liverpool ensuring they have every corner of the globe covered.

And, it appears as if they have found a star who might be worth taking a punt on, especially given the number of wonderkids his country produces year on year.

The Reds certainly have an eye for young talent and their academy is one of the most well respected across the world.

The team has worked tirelessly to ensure the club is in safe hands going forward, and they show no signs of stopping anytime soon.

And, it looks like they are keeping a very close eye on one wonderkid in particular, with this being Robinho Jr, the son of former Man City player Robinho.

According to Lewis Steele of the Daily Mail, the Reds have sent a scout to a number of games this season to watch the 17-year-old in action for Brazilian side Santos, where he plays alongside Neymar.

The report states that Dassler Marques, Liverpool’s South American-based scout, has been watching him intensively despite the youngster often being used as a substitute.

He reportedly has a £43m release clause inserted into his contract, although Liverpool would face competition from Chelsea for his signature.

When a young Brazilian is linked with such a big club so young, it often means that he is destined for the very top, suggesting the fact the Reds are trying to get in there early is a very good sign.

The young Brazilian is a typical player from his country and is a tricky winger who likes to make a difference in the final third.

He has scored four times for Santos’ under 20s, with most of these coming off the left-hand side of the attack.

Steele reported that he has been spending a lot of time with Neymar during training, perhaps trying to learn a thing or two from a player who will go down in their nation’s history as one of the best ever.

£43m is certainly a lot for an unproven teenager, but be sure that if Liverpool do end up making a move, they will be pretty confident that they will make a good return on their investment.
