Liverpool head into the first international break of the season in brilliant shape having just signed Alexander Isak.
The Reds were already looking good after winning three games from three, but the addition of Isak could take them up another level.
Fans cannot wait to see the Swede in action, and the presence of a break is likely to have frustrated many at Liverpool.
Nevertheless, the pause in play may actually help Liverpool with Isak, giving the 25-year-old the chance to rack up his first minutes of the season with Sweden.
Isak’s last game of any description came on the final day of the 2024/25 Premier League season, when Newcastle were beaten by Everton.
With more than three months having passed since that game, Liverpool know they have to be careful with Isak.
And the Reds have reportedly decided on what the plan is with their new No.

Liverpool fans will be hoping that Isak can get some minutes in the tank – but perhaps not too many – when Sweden play Slovenia and Kosovo over the next week.
From there, he should return to the AXA Training Centre a little more ready to take to the pitch.

When he does come back to Merseyside to meet the Liverpool squad for the first time, The Daily Mail claim that he is currently scheduled to train with the group.
They report that ‘the plan’ is for Isak to join in with the rest of the players when they report back on Thursday September 11th.

It is claimed that Liverpool are not actively looking to put Isak on a personalised fitness programme, but that they are likely to monitor him carefully and may ease him into training sessions and matches.
Happily, Isak is reportedly expected to be in the matchday squad to face Burnley on September 14th as things stand, although he is said to be most likely to start on the bench.
Although Isak is currently unlikely to start against Burnley, he should not have to wait long for his first time in a Liverpool XI.
The Reds play just three days after the game at Turf Moor, facing Atletico Madrid in the Champions League at Anfield.
Given the short turnaround time, it may be that Arne Slot decides to keep Isak on the bench against Diego Simeone’s side as well.
In that case, it could be that the record signing’s first start could come in the Merseyside Derby on September 20th.
We think Isak could be Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk 2.0, and if he can score in that game, the parallels will continue.
