No succession plan in place to replace departing Liverpool sporting director Julian Ward
According to Football Insider (h/t Liverpool Echo), there are no succession plans currently for who is going to succeed Liverpool sporting director, Julian Ward, after he announced his decision to leave the club at the end of the season.
• Liverpool will offer double the salary to Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat
• Juventus and Napoli enter the race for Liverpool transfer target Antonio Silva
After losing out on the title race in the initial stages of this season, we cannot afford to have a similar start next season and it is imperative that all the factors which led to the dismal start are taken care of before the new season gets underway.
With Edwards choosing to level Liverpool due to personal reasons, Ward was selected as the rightful heir to the throne but failed to convince many with his first summer transfer window in charge.
It is claimed that Ward’s decision left many people in Liverpool shocked and surprised over the nature and the timing of the announcement.
Hence, a situation like this cannot occur and with half of the season to go, the Liverpool board have to step up and look for Ward’s replacement before the end of the season so that we approach the summer transfer window in the most optimistic manner.
Ward was supposed to take Liverpool to the next level after his predecessor Micheal Edwards had done a magnificent job, along with Jurgen Klopp, to bring some top-quality players into the squad.
Links have since surfaced with former Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal recruitment chief Sven Mislintat however as such no talks have taken place and one cannot argue for now that the two mentioned names will take the Anfield hot seat.
