Liverpool have now been offered the chance to sign a player Ruben Amorim knows very well.
There have been strong rumours that Fenway Sports Group (FSG) could hire the Portuguese tactician after Xabi Alonso announced his decision to stay at Bayer Leverkusen.
A story from the Daily Mail claims that Liverpool are even set to offer the 39-year-old an interview, while the Telegraph believe it will cost £12.8m to hire the man from Lisbon.
Now, Liverpool have reportedly been offered the chance to sign a player Ruben Amorim knows very well…
Well – according to Sports Zone – Liverpool have now been offered the chance to sign Goncalo Inacio from Sporting CP.
The story states that Liverpool have been monitoring the Portugal international for the last 12 months.
There is also interest from Paris Saint-Germain, although Inacio is currently only being viewed as a backup option by the French giants, who have made Leny Yoro the No.1 target.

Michael Edwards is seemingly on the lookout for a new central defender after Joel Matip endured a tough campaign with injuries – the Liverpool No.32 has made just 14 appearances so far this season, and sees his contract expire in July.
If Liverpool do manage to sign Inacio this summer, Edwards will have secured one of Europe’s most talented central defenders, and also a rare left-footed one.
The Sporting CP No.25 has previously been described as a “matador” by his fellow countryman and Manchester United No.8 Bruno Fernandes due to his commanding performances at the back.
Inacio has also amassed six caps for Portugal at the age of 22 – while making a whopping 161 appearances under Amorim for Sporting CP.

Therefore, if FSG and Edwards do end up hiring the 39-year-old to replace Jurgen Klopp, the chances of Liverpool signing the defender from Almada will presumably increase, especially as the Reds seem to have tracked him for some time now, as aforesaid.
There have been previous reports suggesting Liverpool wanted Inacio to partner Virgil van Dijk back in the summer of 2023 – although a move failed to materialise and then Jarell Quansah emerged.
Now, Liverpool could finally get their hands on the Sporting CP colossus this summer, after being offered the chance to sign him.
