Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City all reportedly want Yves Bissouma, but it seems that the midfielder wants to move to the Gunners.

Yves Bissouma rumours

The Times reported last month that Arsenal, Liverpool and City all are interested in signing the Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder.

90min has claimed today that Arsenal, Liverpool and Leicester City are keen on the 24-year-old.

In fact, Liverpool and Leicester have contacted the Seagulls, but Bissouma wants to move to Arsenal.

Yves Bissouma stance

So, why doesn’t Bissouma want to move to Liverpool (or Leicester)?

According to the report, the 24-year-old is unwilling to move ‘so far north’.

So, it seems that it is the location of Liverpool that is the main issue.

Well, according to this report anyway.

If indeed Bissouma wants to move to Arsenal and not Liverpool, it does throw some rather interesting questions.

You would think that at this moment in time, players would prefer Liverpool to Arsenal.

The Reds won the Premier League title in 2020, finished third this past season, and will play in the Champions League.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will be determined to reclaim the title from Manchester City next season.

As for Arsenal, the Gunners will not even play in the Europa League and are not going to challenge for the Premier League title.

Marcelo Bielsa praise

One thing’s for sure.

If Arsenal do sign Bissouma, then they would be getting a brilliant player.

Just ask Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa.

Bielsa worked with the 24-year-old when they were at Lille, and he rates him really highly.

The Argentine told Leeds Live in April 2021: “Was a great player and confirmed it. It’s not the same to have potential and to show it. When I had the chance to work with him he had a lot of resources and here he has shown them completely. He has gained recognition due to his resources.”
