Liverpool’s transfer activity is likely to ramp up over the coming weeks as Arne Slot looks to put plans in place for the summer.
The Reds have always been a club who like doing their business early in the window and that is unlikely to change this year.
With so much on their plate in 2025, Liverpool will want to get as much boxed off as early as possible.
Part of that will be securing a new right-back.
Slot will have a new starter on the right side of his defence next year after watching Trent Alexander-Arnold depart for Real Madrid.
Conor Bradley is set for a bigger role, but it’s clear that Liverpool need another option as well.
Jeremie Frimpong has been heavily linked over recent days, but according to the press in Brazil, he is far from the only player Slot is considering.

Liverpool have a number of possible routes to explore when deciding on a new right-back this summer.
Do they go for a big-money signing like Frimpong, or someone a little less well-known to battle it out with Bradley?
One player who perhaps could have a foot in both of those camps is Monaco full-back Vanderson.

Still only 22, Vanderson has been quietly developing at Monaco over the past three seasons.
Although not necessarily a household name, he is one of Europe’s most exciting right-backs.
And according to GOAL Brazil, Liverpool have taken a liking to him.
They claim that the Reds have initiated contact with Vanderson’s agents ‘in recent days.’

Liverpool have reportedly been in touch with the player’s representatives ‘in search of more information’ about him and the possibility of a summer deal.
With Vanderson said to be on Liverpool’s list as a possible Alexander-Arnold replacement, Monaco are claimed to be looking for around £25m in order to sell him this summer.
While Liverpool fans are split on the idea of Frimpong joining, Vanderson is likely to be a more universally agreeable choice.
Although a lesser name than the Bayer Leverkusen defender, he is a more natural right-back.
He is also younger, cheaper and perhaps has even greater potential.
And as journalist Graeme Bailey told Rousing The Kop in November 2024, Liverpool have been watching Vanderson from as far back as 2022, when he joined Monaco from Gremio.
“They were one of the clubs who looked at him before he arrived at Monaco, interestingly,” Bailey said at the time.
“They decided not to go for him then, but he’s settled in well into European football and I certainly think he would be part of the conversation if Alexander-Arnold does leave and they do have to find someone to come in and help fill the void.”
With that prospect set to become a reality, it looks as though Liverpool are stepping up their interest in the five-cap Brazil international.
