Liverpool have a date with Newcastle lined up on bank holiday Monday as they aim to send a statement to the Premier League.
Although the season is still very young, the confidence boost of winning at St James’ Park ahead of next weekend’s clash with Arsenal would be enormous.
Obviously, talk ahead of the game has been dominated by Liverpool‘s lingering interest in Alexander Isak.
The feeling for a while has been that Liverpool could bid for Isak once Monday’s game is out of the way.
In that respect, the August bank holiday really is a big day in the Reds’ season.
However, Isak’s potential move is not the only transfer story bubbling on during the final days of the summer transfer window.
After being left out of both matchday squads this season, Kostas Tsimikas could be on his way out of Anfield in the next week.
And according to the Italian press, Monday is set to be a key day for this saga as well.

After Milos Kerkez arrived at Liverpool, Tsimikas has been surplus to requirements for Arne Slot.
The Greek has been a steady performer after arriving at the club in 2020.
Michael Owen even called Tsimikas ‘brilliant‘ last season, but he is now third-choice left-back behind Kerkez and Andy Robertson.

Reports from last week claimed that Roma are keen to sign Tsimikas on loan, and that would look like a good option for the 29-year-old.
And as per journalist Alfredo Pedulla on his website Alfredopedulla.com, the Serie A team are set to step up their interest on Monday.

It’s claimed that Liverpool and Roma will have a meeting to determine whether a loan move to the Stadio Olimpico will be possible for Tsimikas.
Marseille are also said to be keen on the Greece international, along with ‘a couple of other clubs.’
Slot does have a question to answer over who plays left-back for Liverpool against Newcastle.
Kerkez did not cover himself in glory on opening day, and the Liverpool head coach may decide to go with the more tried and tested Robertson.
Whoever starts, though, the other is very likely to take a place on the bench, meaning there will not be space for Tsimikas to do the same.
With his future very much up for debate over the next week, it would be a surprise to see the left-back in the travelling squad for Monday night’s match.
A permanent sale should still be Liverpool’s preference, but a loan so Tsimikas can go and play may be the only remaining option.
